My iWork06 works perfectly, but it needs the CI and QE supported. (SSE3 maybe needs too, My CPU have SSE3)

When I install the ATI driver and remove the /System/Library/Extensions/ATI*.kext, my iWork06 crashed at the same time. But that is not my problem, I reinstall the OS X 1099 because I can't find the files I deleted. ><

Obviously the CI/QE is the centainly problem with the mouse tearing. After I install the Ati.kext, mouse tearing is disappear.

But that have a trade off problem when you have mouse tearing, iWork06 works.

Now I have another problem, that is when I use the Keynote. After I show my keynote use cube effect, and my mouse disapper and remain the double horizontal line on my CRT screen. When I move the mouse, the line move together. Is it the CRT cause the problem or the ATI driver?

It's the ATI drivers -- after using GL programs (like Keynote), the mouse dissapears. Install Mouse Locator so that you may reboot your comp, it's the best thing so far.

Thanks for your answer.

I try the mouse locator already, it reduice the mouse tearing problem but after show the keynote. Mouse still disapper. My Graphic Card is ATI X300 SE-X (ASUS) and use the CRT.

You can actually prevent this in Keynote's preferences.

Just press command+, while in Keynote to open the Preference dialog. Then click on the "Slideshow" tab. Tick the "Show pointer when the mouse moves" radio button and then you're done! This still hides the mouse while viewing a presentation, but for some reason it won't disappear when you close it.

This does work on the other OpenGL apps? Like games & stuff?

I had the same issues with iPhoto diashows, and after reading this hint I fixed iPhoto by clicking on the preferences of the diashow (right, at the bottom), and then checked the "show diashow controls" (or something similar in english) and I also changed the diashow format to TV, DVD 4:3. The bug is gone, I can view the slideshows and after that enjoy my pointer

So I guess it will work with every app, that has the option to keep the mousepointer on screen in some way.

Thanks leothar :D

Hi ,

I tryed the suggested hint on keynote, but I got anyway the scrambled cursor after closing the slideshow. I have both QE/CI working (ATI Radeon 9550).

Is "show pointer when the mouse moves" the only thing I have to set to let keynote working fine? What Video Card do you have? do you use also mousepose?

The strange thing is that instead the hint by xtraa works fine in iPhoto.

Can you give me more advice to let keynote working fine?

thanks in advance

I know this is a super old thread, but to fix keynote u should

set "show pointer when mouse moves" and "allow expose, dashboard and others to use the screen"

I have a radon 9600 se and when i just do "show pointer when mouse moves" it messes up the mouse.

Set both and it works great
