Coca-Cola Posted February 7, 2009 Share Posted February 7, 2009 Heya, I recently bought a Samsung 22 inch Syncmaster 2263UW for my two hackintoshs, and everything is working just fine, it has a mic and speakers that are USB connected and they are PnP recognized by the Mac OS 10.5.3. But, I can't make the 3.0 mp webcam to work. Any ideas? I strongly recomend this flat panel for hack users, it's great, and (almost) fully compatible OOB! p.s.: I already tried MACAM, no sucess. Hi guys..I need this driver (kext) too...and if anyone knows about it, please...my Mac is realy awesome, the only thing that not work is this webcam NMG 3M from Samsung...heeeeellllpppp!!!! JulienLC Posted August 4, 2009 Share Posted August 4, 2009 hello! I bought a mac mini recently with the exact same screen. same for me the webcam doesn't work. have you found a solution to this. PS: I used the DVI connector the speakers don't work. Also I bought a logitech keyboard and mouse and I have a french keyboard (azerty) but for some keys do not work like the *, +, -, @ etc..., end, begin. If you have any tips that will be useful cause I'm new to mac. Did use try the latest software ??? http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net and have you tryed iusbcam http://www.ecamm.com/mac/iusbcam/ and tryed to use it with ichat or manycam? to see if it detects it ??? Instead plugging directly to the back of your Mini's USB port, first, plug in a USB Hub . Instead plugging directly to the back of your Mini's USB port, first, plug in a USB Hub . Are you sure the camera will work if I connect it to a USB Hub? After searching the internet for a solution I got many suggestion from many sources. Someone told me to buy a USB Hub (luckly I had), connect it to my MacMini's backside USB port and then connect the monitor's USB to it. It works. But also, I tried to connect directly (without the USB Hub). It worked too. Oddly it only works on Photo Booth.It doesn't work on iChat, MSN Messenger, Yahoo's...etc. When you click Apple>About this Mac>More information>USB>NMG 3M Just look at the "electric current required (mA)" or something like that....sometimes your Mac Mini has problem to calculate how much (mA) your Samsung webcam(+ sound) requires. For some people a USB Hub solves this issue. I tested it on Windows and it has a very poor image quality. Running on Mac won't help either. The solution is buying a decent webcam and attach just in front of the samsung's to cover its poorness.
