symbiot
Hi, after my succesful installation of mac osX on my acer aspire one, i wanted to install it also (next to my Vista) on my 'regular' PC. Since i tried 3 different osX types (jAs, iAtkos 10.5 and kalyway 10.5.2 and kalyway 10.5.5 (including patches 1,2,3 as found) ) and they all 'panic' on the same moment, i thought to try it here! i tried (with all) to boot with: -v And -x -v but no success (the added screenshot was when i booted with kalyway 10.5.5 (patched) i think that my SATA harddrives (2) are the problems, since i already plugged in my old IDE dvd-rom instead of my new SATA dvd burner (which gave problems while i wanted to install my Vista, and previous attempt to install mac osX x86) [Current BIOS Settings] OnBoard IDE Operate Mode Enhanced Mode Support On [P-ATA+S-ATA] Configure S-ATA as RAID NO Power ACPI 2.0 Support Yes ACPI APIC support Enabled BIOS->AML ACPI table Enabled AMIBIOS version 1004.001 Build date 09/24/04 [/Current BIOS Settings] I have an Ati Radeon 9800XT Pro as videocard... i hope someone encountered the same problem and/or knows what i have to do! thnx in advance Symbiot ps: i have 2 monitors connected, disconnecting 1 is also no sollution, plugging in my USB-keyboard so i have both mouse and keyboard connected by USB did not solve anything... [edit] the iAtkos install DVD was version 4.1i i also tried the XxX 10.5 Leo Install, same problem encountered i also upload a screenshot of my harddrives [/edit]
symbiot
After updating my BIOS firmware to the latest one, i came exactly one step further, being that i now can install Mac OSX on my pc. but that's all, after installing the best i could do was displaying an "you need to reboot" error. (all other attempts after updating the BIOS was resulting in a repeating reboot...) I am glad that darwin bootloader is still up and running, so i can at least work on my PC. I still have one question though; i also noticed sort of an "acpi error", can anyone tell me if this means that (altough i selected acpi in my bios) i have to use the x86 platform? again, thnx in advance (if someone does reply...) symbiot
jippie-ka-jee! I got it working 90%! i updated my bios and selected the following on my iAtkos 10.5.5 Install Dvd (Connected through IDE) Kernel: 9.0.2 TOH Chameleon Bootloader Speedstep intel b Natit Graphics driver Marvell Yukon Ethetnet driver --------------------------------------- The result is that i got i working, including SPDIF SOUND!!!! The only i had to do was to edit the com.apple.Boot.plist in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration in order to show the proper resolution add to Kernel Flags: "Graphics Mode"="1280x1024x32" the result now is that almost everything is working except my ATI Radeon 9800 XT Pro video card! i tried to use The Callisto method (as found on the forum) and tried to install the Amd Radeon drivers for mac, but those drivers aren't available for Intel based mac's This resulted in a non-bootable mac osX86 thus making me reinstall the os again.... I will still be looking for the proper ATI Radeon 9800 XT Pro video card driver for my mac osX86 10.5.5 hope someone does know how to make this work! Thnx in advance Symbiot. ps: I tried also to alter the Radeon9700 kext with the proper device id, the problem is that the device id is already in the kext... no solution there either.. I just want to thank you for posting your solution. As I do have a P4P800-E Deluxe myself, I tried your solution and I successfully installed Leopard 10.5.5 with the iAtkos 10.5.5 Install Dvd after updating my bios to latest version. My selected settings: Bootloader Chamelon Decrypter : Apple SMBIOS x86 : Netkas Kernel : toh ACPI : X86 ACPI Disabler OHR VGA: Nvidia/nvinject (I do have an Asus N6200 as graphic card) AGP GART Network Marwell yukon Everything is working including correct display, but no sound ???. I then upgraded online to 10.5.6. and reinstalled all the thing written above (but not the 10.5.5 of course) I lost my keybord and mouse PS/2 but a USB keyboard and mouse are working. The 10.5.6 is fully working. Enjoy ! Marc.

FUBARed
Updating this post with Asus P4P800 Deluxe. Running ideneb 10.5.5 fine. Choose the following when installing. ICHxxx (chipset) SKGEXT (Ethernet) 9.4.0 StageXNU (Kernel) As far as video card, I had a cheapo Nvidea 256mb card, so chose that under VIDEO Installed fine and booted 100%. BTW: Use USB Keyboard and Mouse, do not use PS/2 Good Luck
Groovely
BTW: Use USB Keyboard and Mouse, do not use PS/2 Try ApplePS2Controller.kext for PS/2. I installed it later and I think it is all you need.

I have the same board, and have gotten installs partially working, but if I enable sound or Firewire, then the DVD crashes before it even loads, which is odd because the AC97 sound is common and doesn't bother my Dell. I'm thinking I must have something else off. Thanks for the post, I'm working with iAtkos now, but it helps to know the iDeneb was succesful with those settings. ~G.
