Topic says it all: on Windows I use sabnzbd to download my usenet, -sweet- program:

I drop an .nzb into a watched dir, sab picks it up, grabs the files, repairs, extracts, and then deletes all the original files. Also combines split mpegs and deletes the originals.

---

on OS X, I'm using Unison and it does the downloading just fine, but I still have to repair-extract-combine-delete on my own. This is way too much work for me, feels like 1999!!!

Is there an easier tool or combination of tools?

What's your Usenet / OSX solution?

There is something very similar to sabnzbd (I actually didn't know something like this existed for windows) called hellanzb (http://www.hellanzb.com/trac/).

On OS X the easiest way to get hellanzb is with darwinports (http://darwinports.opendarwin.org/). You'll have to build darwinports, as there is no universal binary version... I think, maybe they have one by now.

And then you just do something like 'sudo port install hellanzb'. There were some problems with building the dependicies I had. There's a thread on here about it, you have to add 'template <>' keywords to one of the .c files for a dependecy. You also have to switch a makefile or something similiar to use GCC4. I dunno if it's all been fixed yet or not.

Definitely check out hellanzb. It's really great and has growl notification support too, which is awesome if you have one comp grabbing stuff and another can be notified when it's done, etc.
