foyaeman
I'm trying to install OSX86 from a DVD drive. So, i boot from dvd, darwin open's fine, I run installer with "-v". It detect's my hardware, does some other stuff, then I get this message "SAM Multimedia: Read or Write Failed ASC=0x11 ASCQ=0x05". This message repeats a couple of time's and then I get "disk0s3: I/O Error" I searched the forum's for a solution with no result This message came after I fixed the "Still waiting for root device" Message. Thank's in advance for help, ---Abdullah Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15107-sam-multimedia/ Share on other sites

Thank's in advance for help, ---Abdullah If you go to google.com and type in "SAM Multimedia: Read or Write Failed" (without the quotes) you immediately get relevant hits. It almost always resolves to the inability of the DVD drive to read your home-burned DVD. Try (in this order): 1. Slow the burning speed down to the very minimum 2. Use a high quality blank to burn 3. Wipe the peanut butter & jelly bits off the bottom side & try again Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15107-sam-multimedia/#findComment-96895 Share on other sites
dponmac
yeah i had the same error.. slowed the burn speed down to 2x and it installed fine.. a little slow, but i got it installed. it seems 10.4.4 is a little picky about dvd drives/media p.s. what does this have to do with windows anyways?
