fayze Posted January 29, 2009 Share Posted January 29, 2009 more specifically, for an acer 3680. i want a natively working, plug it in and it works, miniPCI wireless card. i saw on the wiki that the Broadcom 4318 works, but just wanted to make sure. im trying to get sleep working, and think the wireless card is messing things up. this card is 10$ on ebay, so its my favorite choice right now. does anyone have any personal experience with this laptop or card or both? i want to make sure it works and doesnt have any hardware locks on it like some laptops do. ex: you swap in a nonsupported card and the computer wont boot at all, or wont turn the card on. also, any other suggestions for another card that will work would be appreciated. please note that i need a miniPCI, not miniPCIe. ive already wasted money getting the wrong type once. thanks in advance. fayze Posted February 17, 2009 Author Share Posted February 17, 2009 well, i went ahead and bought the bcm 4306 for 10$. switched back to vanilla kexts and it worked oob, just like it should. i now have no problems putting the laptop into sleep mode, and it wakes up correctly. steamplug i suggest you give this card a try.
