nermal
Hi! I'm trying to install from the myzar DVD. 10.4.1 worked fine, but 10.4.5 takes around 10 minutes just to get from the Darwin boot loader to the License Agreement. One hour (!) later the installer is at 5% complete. I chose not to wait another 19 hours... Installation is incredibly slow, while the mouse and menus are fluent. The DVD drive is accessed constantly, but the disc is fine, I can read it in Windows at full speed. I tried two different DVD drives. My harddrive is primary slave, my DVD drives are secondary master/slave. I'm using an Athlon 3800+ X2 on a A8N SLI premium, and I did try the boot switches idlehalt=0, platform=x86pc or ACPI and cpus=1, all without any effect. Thanks for any pointers, Christoph Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14963-1045-installation-is-super-slow-a8n-sli-x2-3800/ Share on other sites
sam_the_killer
Correction Pls place ur hard drive in a master mode either:"Primary or Secondary"(But definitely Master). Also if u have another hard drive , u can use VMWare to install Mac OS on a physical partition.
