rhodar
After much screwing around i finally got macosx to install, i had to use vmware as my dvdrom drive is not supported by macosx.. when i tried to boot it wouldnt let me, when trying with chain 0, it said something was wrong, and when i tried directly booting to the hdd i installed to it didnt detect an operating system. I managed to get it to boot, by using the 10.4.4 dvd then pressing F8 and typing "rd=disk2s1" (this being because it is on the second disk in my computer) and it works... Now i was wondering if there was a way to fix this more permenantly so i do not have to keep typing typing this. Can anyone help me? Oh by the way, for people who are having trouble booting, either in vmware ('_' at the top of the screen and doesnt boot) or natively, boot with cd, press f8 and type 'rd=disk#s%' replacing # with the disk number and % with the parition number, hope this helps some people out, as it took me a long time to find out how to get mine to at least boot Cheers Rhodar Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14938-how-do-you-boot-without-cd/ Share on other sites
