jgrimes80
pop in the 10.4 disk 1 that came with your computer (least it came with my mac) Hold either C or the options key to after reboot... if you use the options key, select the cd. When the window to install comes up... goes to utilities(?) and open disk utility. Make sure the first HD shown is highlighted, and hit the tab titled partition. there will be a pull down titled "Current" that you will use to set the partition to 1. Partition - close then reinstall mac os x. jgrimes80
it will erase your entire HD ... if you jacked up the install, IMO your files probably aren't there anyways Select partion 1 from the pull down then hit the partition button towards the bottom. Pantalaimon
what format do i choose? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14930-partition-troouble-with-boot-camp-help-plz/#findComment-96314 Share on other sites
jgrimes80
the normal one is "mac os extended (journaled)" and is perfectly adequate... IMO if you redo the process, format your XP disk during the installation to FAT so it can simply be mounted(via disk utility) to perform a sweep and clean install in OSX as easy as cut & paste. <---I used a first gen 5g iPod to house my windows (C-drive) back-up and I've already used it. couple min vs. an hour.... idk?
