Acidic
Hey Guys, I installed Kalyway 10.5.3 on my computer. As of right now, it won't boot gives me a still waiting for root device error. I need to save some of the files that are on the mac hard drive before wiping it and reinstalling. I've tried going to windows to access it but im not sure how i can do that. Please ANYONE help me. Need help as soon as possible ah sry it posted twice.... ** ok just thought of something. Could I boot up on Kalyway disc go to disc utility and create a partition on the mbr disc without destroying the contents? then could i go ahead and do a clean install on the new partition. then could i boot onto that partition and access the files from there? or Could I put the drive into a external enclosure then connect it to a different, working mac? Thanks guys Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/149180-transferring-files-from-mbrmac-portion-to-windows/ Share on other sites
Tony Conte
If you start up with your Kalyway DVD and erase all the data yes it will (counting partitioning too). You could use MacDrive to transfer files from your mac. And yes you could put the external hd to another working mac and copy files.
