I have spent about my day trying to figure out what components to use to build my own hackintosh but my main problem is that I dont know which Asus Motherboard Is the best to use for a hackintosh but in a reasonable price range (max is $200)? Any amount of information would be deaply appreciated. Thanks icon1.gif

best thing i can say is to poke around and see what other people have used, i have a M2N-SLi Deluxe, good mobo but has some small issues and uses a AMD cpu, just kinda look at what it uses for ethernet, chipset, sound, video(if your gonna use integrated) and see if there are patches out there for it

+ intel chipset > vanilla install, most distros work oob ( kaly, IPC)

- sound only stereo out

+ ethernet oob

- jmicron is and remains a pain ( need Sata devices)

 

there are newer asus boards, like p5q, but look in the specific postings, which are their advantages and pains.

I have one, with IDE DVD and IDE 80GB HDD works just fine!
