coconup
hi today I had to reinstall os x because my retail install was somehow corrupted. apparently also my retail dvd is broken so I had to reinstall kalyway 10.5.2, then I deleted all the modified kexts in s/l/e, installed chameleon with the kexts I had in the previous install in /extra and updated to 10.5.6 without any problem. but now I noticed that software update doesn't work, it stops at the beginning saying 'checking for updates' and even if the program doesn't actually crash it won't go on... also, in itunes when I check for updates it says 'the ipod software update server could not be contacted. an unknown error occured (1453)' what can I do? happyjohn
Hi there, I have the same problem after installing Mac OS X 10.5.6 Retail on my PC. Dunno what to do with Software Update, but it's frozen at the one point - exactly after it starts with a nice note - "Checking for updates..." I would also like to ask you how did you run it as a root from Terminal? Just what a command did you type? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/148181-software-update-stuck-at-checking-for-updates/#findComment-1129424 Share on other sites
