  1. Like yours, and like I've written before, it doesn't work on my P5Q3 even after I reinstalled AppleHDA.kext. Previous version (for Leo 10.5) worked well, though when switched on Snow Leo 10.6 x64 my sound was disappeared with your driver. Sad... By the way, marionez, I've checked my device vendor/ID# and I can confirm it's ALC1200 - HD Audio Controller 8086:3a3e. May be it helps you to improve it. Anyway, thanks!
  2. Hi marionez, thanks for your work, but I think I need some help. I have a Snow Leo installed (10.6.2 working in x64 bit mode) on my motheboard, which is ASUS P5Q3. I tried your kext for sound (I hope it's ALC1200), but it doesn't work at all - the system profiler shows me no device. I had my sound working previously on 10.6 and 10.6.2 though, however I used ALC888 driver instead of yours. I don't use DSDT patch (sorry I'm almost a noob) and all I can is to use Terminal to make copy/paste operations. Permissions correct, no errors in my log are presented, so I'm frustrating what's wrong with my sound. Here's my config: ASUS P5Q3 with Core 2 Quad 9550 4Gb RAM Geforce 250 with a string SATA 1Tb storage as disk0 with EFI partition (disk0s1) Chameleon 2RC3 + PC EFI 10.3 (boot file changed only from PC EFI) Extra/Extensions contains 2 files only: FakeSMC.kext and IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext. System/Library/Extensions contains your AppleHDA.kext without any enablers and nothing else modified in it. If I missed something or in case you need much info, please let me know and help me, I'm really frustrated...
  3. Hello Marionez! You always did a great job for us and I highly appreciate it. Unfortunately this time I could get the sound working properly on my P5Q3 Under the Snow Leopard (x64). I installed the kext for SL into /S/L/E, repaired permissions and rebooted. After that I expected at least to see something in my system profiler, but there was nothing at all. I then tried to instal your kext (AppleHDA) in the Extra/Extensions on my hidden EFI partition. The same... In case it matters, I use the Chameleon RC2 + PCI EFI 10.3 on Vanilla Snow Leo. Can you please help me to find out what's the point for in my situation? Thanks! John
  4. Installing Chameleon 2.0 RC1 - sound problems

    anybody knows the answer?
  5. Hello everybody, I have the strange issue which I can't solve by myself, so I'm asking someone to help me. The matter is when my system (Leo 10.5.6 vanilla installation on Quad 9550, Asus P5Q3 mobo, 4 Gb DDR3, Nvidia Geforce 9800GTX+) worked with Chameleon 1.0.12 everything works just fine and I didn't have problems with sound and system stability. Then I bought a new HDD to install the WinVista and plugged it in as a separate SATA HDD. Installed Vista on there and to make them work together I also installed Chameleon 2.0 RC1. Everything worked great until I've noticed, that when I start Skype (for example) or any other sound is played, there were strange scratches, like the sound was started to play, but with a delay and with those scratches. Then I also noticed that my system stability became worse than it was before installing Chameleon 2.0 RC1. Some programs stopped quitting in a normal way and I needed to use Force Quit instead. What I did. I had SisProfilerFix installed - I've deleted it. Reinstalled audio kexts for my mobo - nothing seems to work. May be someone could help me? Please!

EDIT: After I came back to Chameleon 1.0.12 all problems were disappeared, so I think the matter in Chameleon 2.0 RC1... Sad It's a so great work!!!.... Anyway, may be there's a solution - to wait until Chameleon 2.0 without "RC1"? Or may be the reason that it overrides some values during a boot? For example my memory type became DDR2 667MHz instead of DDR3 1333 Mhz. I've corrected that with smbios.plist of course, but who knows?....
  8. Hi there, I have the same problem after installing Mac OS X 10.5.6 Retail on my PC. Dunno what to do with Software Update, but it's frozen at the one point - exactly after it starts with a nice note - "Checking for updates..." I would also like to ask you how did you run it as a root from Terminal? Just what a command did you type? Thanks
