Hello all

I spent rather a long time setting up 10.4.1 on my Dell, and it's been working swimmingly for a good while now.

I am interested in updating to 10.4.6 - but the question is, how simple is that to achieve? What do I need to download and what do I need to be careful about?

Will I lose my sound drivers I spent AGES configuring?

Help much appreciated.

Any chance you could tell us about your rig? What kind of hardware you have running will determine how well 10.4.6 will work on your system. Overall, I do recommend upgrading if you can. The speed of current builds is far and away much faster than they were with 10.4.1, not to mention the compatability you'll have with current Mac software.

Just so you know, sound still seems to be just as big a pain in the ass as it was back in 10.4.1, so be prepared to do some work to get it going again.

No, I don't think the combo update will work with your current osx86 install. I would recommend looking into Myzar's 10.4.4/10.4.5 DVD install, then updating with Myzar's or quixos' 10.4.6 patch, NOT the official Apple patch. Both files can be found at the same place, and I'm sure you know where that is.
