Nvidia 8500gt

4 GB (2x2) GSkill 1066 PC8500 memory

Thermaltake 850-watt PSU

Antec 900

V1 Thermaltake CPU cooler (huge cooler)

Tripple Boot - Vista Ultimate, Windows 7 Ultimate, Mac OS X 10.5.4

I had to pull this information for many sources which most came from insanelymac.com (thank you guys!!!)

Program necessary to download for this install

Kalyway 10.5.2 leopard install which can be found here

Mod edit - torrent link removed

To boot to your bios press Delete at your Ai splash screen

Correct Bios configuration for this Install

USB Device configuration

Legacy Disk A = Disabled

HDD Settings

Configure SATA configuration to AHCI

CPU configuration

CPU ID = AUTO

Max CPUID = Disabled

Vanderpool = Disabled

Intel Speed Step = Disabled

Power settings

Chang Auto to S3 Power Only

Enable the other 3 power settings

Make sure after the ISO is burnt your bios configuration is set to boot to cd-rom is in the first priority amoung the three

All Hardware works OOB except wifi, there is a known patch to get wifi to work with airport express but unable to locate.

Your HDD must be fortmated to Mac Live Jouranl, ounce you boot into kalyway just press enter at prompt and let it go through the scripts,

no need to go into (-v) unless you dont get the classic Leopard welcome. You can format and change your HDD setting in the Disk utility located at the top of the screen.

After your install is finished you hear the nice little mac (do doo .. doo doop) various Hello! messages spring up in different languages (congrats!, you did it!)

to update from 10.5.2 to 10.5.3 download kalyway update located at

Mod edit - torrent link removed :)

[*]Download the 10.5.3 Kalyway Combo Update

[*]Go to /System/Library/Extensions/

[*]Start Update

[*]When AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext apperars, move it to trash immediately before you hit the restart button

Restart the PC

to upgrade from to 10.5.3 to 10.5.4 go to apple update site and download it directly from the website

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/appl...1054update.html (88mb file)

make sure the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext is still not in the /Extensions

after the update is finished restart your PC once again.. and you now have Leopard 10.5.4

You now have a certified Mean Lean Hackintosh Running Machine

Your system info will even see your model as a P5K Deluxe

I've complete this project on this board with Celeron 440, Core 2 Duo and my Q6600 so the processor type seems to have little bearing on this board.

This board is great for a hackintosh build if your considering going to Mac and want to Keep your Windows OS's without purchasing additional Virutal Machine software or messing with bootcamp.

I greatly urge you to go to your local retailor and purchase a liscence of the Leopard OS X operating system to get your cute little sticker to make it an apple branded computer and update your licence to make it legal

Hi

im currently trying to get kalyway working on my P5K deluxe, and have used all of the above bios settings but when I try to install it just freezes with the leopard background (the pinkish one) and has a multicoloured egg timer style thing in the top left corner. It doesnt go any further than this and doesnt even get to the stage where I should be able to choose a partition to install on etc.

another question i have is, do i need a SATA HDD especially to install leopard on or can I install it on a partition on an HDD?

thanks so much for your time

What kind of graphics card are you using?

Are you using an ATA drive instead of a SATA?
