Hello there, this is my first time asking for help on the actual forum, up untill now I have wandered the chatroom.

I am having an extremely difficult time installing Max OS X Leopard on my computer. I constantly get the "Waiting for Root Device" when using my Sata HDD and Sata DVD Drive. When I used my IDE DVD with IDE HDD I got the IOATACatalog Blocking Bus error. I have tried using an IDE to USB adaptor with IDE or Sata, I tried SATA to USB with IDE or Sata, all with no avail! I am honestly running out of options, as all my distros have AppleNForceATA installed.

My computer:

Motherboard: Asus Striker II Extreme (nVidia 790i Ultra)

CPU: Intel Pentium D 3.0 GHz

Memory: 2 x 2 GB OCZ 12800

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500 GB SATA

DVD: Liteon Sata

Graphics Card: PNY GeForce 9800 GTX

Power Supply: Ultra 1000w

Distros:

iAtkos 5i 10.5.5

iPC 10.5.6

Kalway 10.5.2

Leo4all ver3

I have NOT been able to install Leopard AT ALL, so suggestions regarding the installation of kexts and what not cannot be possible!

I HAVE search ALL over for answers and tried everything mentioned! NOTHING has worked for me! I am hoping those who have had successful installs based on my chipset/mobo can come forth and shed some light on my troubles!

I have attempted to install from USB Thumb Drive, but I get the "EBIOS Read Error" constantly. I have access to a Leopard installation through VMWare, so if anyone suggests something involving a mac I can try to do it to the best of my ability.

The harddrive I am installing to has 3 partitions, one dedicated to file storage, one dedicated to vista, and one dedicated to the non existant leopard :-D

I am hoping I have provided enough information for everyone and hopefully you guys can help me out! I really would like to get this installed and would really appreciate your help!!!!!

Thank you !

Alex

Edit:

I was able to boot into installation (Select language screen) using Leo4All Ver3 with the command "platform=ahci -v" but when I click the arrow after selecting english, the system gives me the little spinning bar but it never stops... the cd drive stops spinning... any ideas anyone?

I don't know if it could help you out

I was able to install with almost the same config as yours

But I had to put " nforce -v"

and something very strange I had to plug the MAC keyboard then the installation screen started !!!

Incredible with a PS2 keyboard the installation was stopping at the very start during boot
