Andreas-HH Posted January 15, 2009 Share Posted January 15, 2009 Hi, two years ago i started my hackintosh-project but the mouse tearing bug was killing me and so i uninstalled my osx86 :-( At this time there was no way to fix that problem completely. Is there any solution for that problem right now? Please, help me. I have got an Ati Radeon 9600 Pro. Reveeen Posted January 15, 2009 Share Posted January 15, 2009 Mouse tearing can be caused by a couple of things, I get mouse tearing on my "real" Mac under certain conditions, so it's not limited to your case. Let's review the cause(s): 1) improper, or no AGP driver 2) crummy card driver 3) crummy, or {censored} card As I primarily run Nvidia cards here, I am told the Callisto driver is "the one to use" for your 9600, you do have to install an AGP driver of some sort, and in the case of my "real" Mac, the card I'm using is {censored}, hence the "tearing". Edit: Looking through my junk pile I have a 9600 here and I'll try installing a system in the next day, or two (when I have time), I'll let you know how I make out. Bimmer Posted January 15, 2009 Share Posted January 15, 2009 HI, I had the same problem with an ATI x700 Pro, I tried mouse locator, it worked, but not completely. Than I switched to an Nvidia 7600GS, I had no mouse tearing at all. I think it has something to do with any ATI video card older than the x1600. Try upgrading to an x1600, or switch to Nvidia. Andreas-HH Posted January 15, 2009 Author Share Posted January 15, 2009 Please let me know if you got it. I did installed Callisto, then i got no CI/QE support but i had no mouse tearing. Using XxX install disk, on Intel/Intel, FX5200, FX5500, 6200 give no problems here using "Natit Dual V02" driver (and appropriate AGP Gart) Ok, 9600 Pro, REAL ATI, BGA ram chips, on Intel 845, XxX install disk, install:Callisto b.008, 10.4.8 GL open framework, AGP Gart 1.2 No tearing, just no CI/QE Get CI/QE by following instructions posted by iFreddy-91 near the bottom of this page: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...26989&st=20 Still no tearing here using this method.
