dancingii Posted January 15, 2009 Share Posted January 15, 2009 I have been able to get kalyway on my system, but haven't been able to get the retail to install propely. It will boot to before the language selection, and I just get the spinning wheel. I've been having a ton of problems. With kalyway I can update to 10.5.3, but I can't get my video card to install properly. Everytime, I install an injector or an efi string, it won't boot back up. I know this is a lot of stuff, but I am really starting to get really frustrated with this. A few more details on how/what method of install you are using would be nice to have for us to be able to help you. One thing I can tell you right now is that since you have 4gb of ram in the machine you should disable the Jmicron controller in the BIOS until you get the chance to install the fixed .kext's for it on the install, with my machines it will not even get to booting the graphics if that is enabled but not fixed. arbee10 Posted January 15, 2009 Share Posted January 15, 2009 I will be paying attention to this one too. I had nothing but problems with that same mobo and the Q8200 trying to install iAtkos 5i. I tried about everything and could not get it to even finish install. I am still hoping to find a solution as I would like to have an updateable system. Like you I did get Kalyway 10.5.2 to install and appears to be working fine for now. Did you have a lot of trouble getting that updated? It is my next step, and it sounds like you have had a lot of issues...
