jciarlan
I left my mac unattended (logged in, root account) and when I got back my friend had figured out my root password. I know for a fact that he did not download any programs, and it only took him a couple minutes to do. he said he figured it out on a windows computer and it works for windows or mac apparently. I know he has no *nix experience so its something blatantly obvious... my password is a 7char randomly generated one with numbers and letters so I'm pretty sure he didn't decrypt anything. He won't give me any clues and this is killing me so I just really want to know how he figured it out... Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/146988-how-did-he-figure-out-my-password/ Share on other sites
mikecwest
Maybe this is how? Macintosh Security Site -> Mac OS X Single User Mode Root Access - CodeSamurai <codesamurai@securemac.com> .....I have not tried it...but it sounds legit....he could have had a program on a thumb drive etc.....
