A Little help with 10.4.4 please

Ok so I just updated via the maxxuss update DVD last night and I have a few issues that I am unable to figure out. First, I cannot start up OSX without having the install DVD in the drive anyone know how to fix this problem? Second, I had the realtek wireless ethernet drivers on my 10.4.3 install and all I did was update and now when I open WirelessCardBusUtility under link status I believe it is, it says "No Device!!" any help on this also? I have attempted to reinstall the drivers, I have uninstalled then reinstalled, installed over the current drivers, everything. Is there something in the new kernel that must be edited or something? I have no idea on either of these and I NEED to get the internet running ASAP because I have a saturday deadline on some work and I have no internet to work on so any help would be greatly appreciated or else I will have to go back to M$ and I don't wanna do that.

Well you shouldnt rely on a hacked OS for production work really.

well I DO have a copy of M$ but i hate working with it because it's quite possibly the WORST multitasking OS ever created. I just want to figure out this problem so I don't HAVE to use M$ but if it does come to that and I must, I will use it. All I really care about is the internet, I mean it isn't really NECESSARY but it would help out tremendously to have
