ruslan120
Hello! Since I own a genuine macbook pro running genuine os x, I was wondering if it was possible to erase the efi partition on the mbp, and overclock, since the firmware and efi are on the mbp. Then the mobo bios would be left, right? So one could install osx86 with an efi bootloader and vista dual boot, and overclock? Any trials? Let's finally unlock the macbook pro! realityiswhere
Macs have no BIOS, end of story. EFI = replacement for the BIOS. There is no hidden BIOS underneath of EFI, EFI is the end of the line before the firmware on a Mac motherboard goes. More info on EFI: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extensible_Firmware_Interface Your post is mostly nonsense. However it's your computer, you can feel free to do as you wish with it, good luck in.. whatever it is you're trying to accomplish. ruslan120
My mistake, I always assumed that the 200 MB partition contained efi, further research reveals it may not even be used. In that case, to overclock one would need to disassmble the macbook pro, write a custom bios which supports ALL of the hardware, and flash it to the chip with efi. In other words.... impossible.
