I've tried a few ways to install Leopard on this PC:

Motherboard: ECS GeForce 6100PM-M2

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT, 512MB

nForce Serial ATA controller, networking controller

iPC 10.5.6 can't boot the installer DVD -- I get the circle with the slash through it over the apple

iDeneb 1.3 boots the installer and I can go through a full install, but I must not be choosing the right options because after the install is done, it sits at waiting for root device.

I'm choosing AppleNForceATA (not test), 9.4 StageXNU Kernel, and no other options. Should I select more things? AMD patch?

I'm at a loss. Thanks for any help.

I have changed boards now and am using an ASUS M2N-SLI, mainly for vista and gaming because I couldn't fit my new graphics in!

But when I was using this board the spec was:

ECS Geforce6100PM-M2

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+

2GB PC6400 DDR2800

Geforce 8600 GT PNY Graphics

Sata HD and Sata DVD drive

Firewire card installed also.

I would say that first try installing with the test Nforce, I think I may have done that and it went through fully.

If that doesn't work, try removing the graphics and using the onboard VGA for installation and then try adding later - I don't really know about the compatability of your card....

Then, if that still doesn't work, try the patch for still waiting at root device, think its on the ideneb website here: http://ideneb.insanelymac.net/index.php?lang=en

All the instructions are there..

And YES, you must apply the AMD patch if you are running it on an AMD machine!!

Heres the direct link for the waiting for root device fix: http://ideneb.insanelymac.net/en/blog
