timoki
boot time for me is < 1 minute. Im using iATKOS ah ok.. then I will try iATKOS. Did you choose any special customize settings for installation? And if so could you please tell me which ones, before I go ahead with that? Thanks a lot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/146592-asus-eeepc-s101-bios-mod-needed/page/2/#findComment-1098789 Share on other sites
timoki
ah ok.. then I will try iATKOS. Did you choose any special customize settings for installation? And if so could you please tell me which ones, before I go ahead with that? Thanks a lot I already figured out roughly what to pick to make it work fine. So far so good things are working ok (Except wifi of course). What is a problem my brightness keyboard shortcuts are not working which is draining the battery.. any fix for that? timoki
boot time for me is < 1 minute. Im using iATKOS I went through everything.. originally iATKOS has brightness control (but stretched resolution)... so after applying the resolution fix from you, the brightness controls don't work anymore. Any idea / chance to fix this? Because it would be really great to have it back. timoki
Im using a Dell 1490 Airport Card, works out the box, and it was only 15 gbp from a local dealer. gonna try that sound fix now, i already tried soundsource, which is something similar hmm. S101 ethernet uses Atheros ethernet, which is weeeeiiirrrd. Its not on my priority list tbh, as im more interested in wifi heh, but i will try and solve that too once i got this thing 100% working. Btw, my s101 is making a strange very high pitched ring only when im in osx, like its so high pitched u can hardly hear it. what about you? I got Dell 1390 from ebay. It gets recognized fine but the speed of it seems really slow. Do you have same problem on the 1490? Any idea / way to fix this? iiezii
pushing it now hahaha i just read the whole thread and am too waiting for d4ftpunk to get home... I bought my S101 in Jan and only thought of hackintoshing it now... Still searching/learning how to do it at this stage, haven't been able to find much on a complete walkthrough. i understand most things wont work straight off the bat, but close enough is a good base. Anyone have their "ideal" setup running?? Still searching/learning how to do it at this stage, haven't been able to find much on a complete walkthrough. i understand most things wont work straight off the bat, but close enough is a good base. Anyone have their "ideal" setup running?? Well its actually quite straight forward - get & install iAtkos 10.5.5 (via USB DVD-Drive) - install the driver pack from d4ftpunk (don't forget to get the developer tool for install sound, otherwise its not gonna happen) - change you're wireless card (I use Apple one from ebay.. very good.. don't get Dell 1390 its slooow) so after above steps everything (incl. bluetooth, sound, etc). is running, except - Brightness adjustment (d4ftpunk seems still traveling around the world - finding his home) - have some problems when upgrading to 2GB (see here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=163907) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/146592-asus-eeepc-s101-bios-mod-needed/page/2/#findComment-1148005 Share on other sites
nhirt
Guys, I spent a lot of time with OSX on the 1000h... I think you'll find a lot of helpful information over at ipis-osx. A lot of problems have been addressed there: - kexts for HDA - sound output AND input (Microphone) working without installing dev packages - new kexts for battery and speedstep - driver for LAN (you'll have to test if it works on the S101 - I don't know if you have the L1 chipset) - details on how to use DSDT files in order to override the installed BIOS and much more And perhaps you'd want to have a look at the tutorial on my site which should more or less work for the S101 (if not, let me know...) Cheers, Nik Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/146592-asus-eeepc-s101-bios-mod-needed/page/2/#findComment-1149644 Share on other sites
