Retail Leopard Installation on Asus P5Q

Has anyone successfully installed a retail copy of Leopard using an Asus P5Q motherboard? Not P5Q-PRO, P5Q-E or P5Q Deluxe -- just the regular P5Q.

I've looked at several topics in the forum regarding the P45 chipset and similar Asus mobos, but I haven't had any luck with a retail install. (However, I was able to get Kalyway installed after modding my BIOS to ver. 1501 or 1611). I've tried several bootloaders and even a EFI-X unit (not sure it's compatible with this mobo, but I thought I'd give it a shot), but I think I'm stuck with the infamous "Waiting for root device" error.

If anyone has already had any luck with installing retail on this board, I'd love to get some details or advice on how to proceed.

My Specifications:

Asus P5Q (Intel P45 Chipset) motherboard

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 Yorkfield 2.5GhZ

EVGA GeForce 9800GT 512MB

8GB OCZ Reaper DDR2 SDRAM

3 WD Caviar SATA drives

Currently running Vista (64-bit)

Thanks in advance!
