  1. I recently installed Snow Leopard (Retail 10.6.3) on my hackintosh with these specifications, using Chameleon 2.0 (RC4) as my bootloader: My Specifications: Asus P5Q (Intel P45 Chipset) motherboard Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 Yorkfield 2.5GhZ EVGA GeForce 9800GT 512MB 8GB OCZ Reaper DDR2 SDRAM But I'm having trouble getting my graphics card to be recognized correctly. Chameleon correctly identifies it as a GeForce 9800GT (as does my Leopard 10.5.8 installation), but after I boot into Snow Leopard, the Apple System Profiler shows this: ATI Radeon HD 4890: Chipset Model: ATI Radeon HD 4890 Type: GPU Bus: PCIe Slot: Slot-1 PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 512 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0614 Revision ID: 0x00a2 ROM Revision: 113-B7710C-176 EFI Driver Version: 01.00.318 Displays: Display: Resolution: 1920 x 1200 Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888) Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Display Connector: Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this to happen? Thanks in advance!
  2. Is it possible to do Step 11 if the FAT32 partition is on a GUID disk?
  3. Thanks for the quick response! I already had Firewire enabled in my BIOS settings when I experienced this problem. Is there anything else it could be? I've attached a screenshot of where I get stuck booting OSX -- I hope it helps. Thanks again!
  4. I was able to install iDeneb 1.3 successfully, however I am running into problems when I try to boot into it. I suspect something is wrong with the options I'm selecting under "Customize" (during installation) or possibly my BIOS settings but I'm not sure. This is where the boot freezes: InterfaceNamer: no network interfaces, could not update platform UUID Could not establish network configuration: Success! I've tried booting with the LAN enabled in the BIOS, and I've tried reinstalling with different fixes and drivers, also booting with -f -v. Interestingly enough, booting with -x brought me to the Welcome screen, but I couldn't get past the second or third dialog box. Pressing next took me right back to the Welcome screen. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance! My Specifications: Asus P5Q (Intel P45 Chipset) motherboard Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 Yorkfield 2.5GhZ EVGA GeForce 9800GT 512MB 8GB OCZ Reaper DDR2 SDRAM 3 WD Caviar SATA drives Currently running Vista (64-bit)
  5. Has anyone successfully installed a retail copy of Leopard using an Asus P5Q motherboard? Not P5Q-PRO, P5Q-E or P5Q Deluxe -- just the regular P5Q. I've looked at several topics in the forum regarding the P45 chipset and similar Asus mobos, but I haven't had any luck with a retail install. (However, I was able to get Kalyway installed after modding my BIOS to ver. 1501 or 1611). I've tried several bootloaders and even a EFI-X unit (not sure it's compatible with this mobo, but I thought I'd give it a shot), but I think I'm stuck with the infamous "Waiting for root device" error. If anyone has already had any luck with installing retail on this board, I'd love to get some details or advice on how to proceed.
