xxfury2xx
OK, so I decided to pay for the 2.1 update for my 1st gen 16GB iPod touch. I went away to eat dinner while it downloaded the update from itunes, and it also started to upload it to the touch. When I came back, there were no more progress bars, so I thought the update had completed. I checked the ipod screen and it shows the itunes icon with a usb plug, but itunes wasn't recognizing it. I disconnected and reconnected the ipod, and got this error message: iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "" because an unknown error occured (0xE8000035). Can someone help me out? Thanks. shavex
"Error: Wasted $10 on an update you can get for free" JK Um and you have tried unplugging it and plugging it back in? Have you tried having the ipod plugged in while you start the computer? Try restoring the ipod with the new firmware! xxfury2xx
I figured out the problem. I just used a different usb port. For whatever reason the usb port I was using at the time just stopped working for no reason. I rebooted the computer and that fixed the usb port problem. The ipod touch is also now running the latest firmware. I'm pretty relieved right now, I thought it somehow got bricked or something. Thanks.
