bort
Ok guys! Tested and working! I get FULL support to QE/CI and full support to 1366x768! So we can have a real Mac! This is what I have done: 1) Modded my Bios as explained in first page of this thread 2) Installed iDeneb 10.5.6 with this options: - ICHx Fixed - Apple SMBIOS 800 - Realtek R1000 - Battery Manager 3) Installed iDeneb 10.5.7 Combo Update 4) Downloaded and Installed this Nvidia Driver 5) Install this Modded NVinject with KextHelper (thanks to hdas) 6) ENJOY YOUR MAC Thank you Obliviux and everyone else who has contributed to this thread. With your help I have gotten my G50vt-x1 to work perfectly with Mac OS X 10.5.7! The only thing I cannot seem to do is upgrade to 10.5.8. I tried using Software Update (fails on reboot with an Apple SMBIOS error), and by using the iDeneb 10.5.8 Combo Update (gets stuck on reboot at "still waiting for root device"). Has anyone gotten it to work? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/145324-asus-g50vt-x1/page/3/#findComment-1228195 Share on other sites

AndreDurao
Everything is working all right in my g50vt Anyone knows if there is a way to make num-lock (on/off), Num lock is always on, I know that macs dont have a numlock key but sometimes you need to use (home, end, pgup and pgdown) keys... I guess that I'll try a software called uControl http://lowendmac.com/musings/04/0526.html perhaps Its not the best solution, but I'll see it until I find a best solution Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/145324-asus-g50vt-x1/page/3/#findComment-1228752 Share on other sites
bort
If you have installed Leopard 10.5.7 you can try with iDeneb Delta KIT 10.5.8 (See HERE)! Let us know! It didn't work. After using the iDeneb Delta 10.5.8 upgrade kit, I still get "still waiting for root device" on boot. I saved all of my extensions before the upgrade, so I am going to try restoring the contents of /System/Library/Extensions/ and see if I can get it to boot. I already tried restoring all the *ATA*.kext folders with no luck. Maybe with trial and error I can figure out which extension to restore. bort
I figured out how to upgrade to 10.5.8 from 10.5.7: 1. Backup your IOATAFamily.kext extension from /System/Library/Extensions. 2. Install the iDeneb Delta Upgrade to 10.5.8. 3. At the end of the upgrade, don't click the Restart button. Force Quit the installer instead. 4. Go to Terminal and replace the IOATAFamily.kext extension with your backup from 10.5.7 (or use a utility to do it). 5. Reboot with -f -v Your system should reboot with 10.5.8! Thanks again to everyone for their help. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/145324-asus-g50vt-x1/page/3/#findComment-1230317 Share on other sites

YuriSanCa
Hey I've just configured a dual-boot between Windows 7 and iDeneb 10.5.6 I don't know if everyone already knows how to do it, but it's very simple. I partitioned my disk with the iDeneb DVD boot like this: 1- Windows7 (fat) 30Gb 2- MacOSX (HFS+) 30Gb 3- Data (fat) 260gb Then quit the installer and restarted. I put then my Windows 7 RTM version DVD and formatted the first partition as NTFS. So I installed it and, after, the MacOSX normally. The trick is to boot from Windows 7 DVD and go to "repair my computer">prompt. In the prompt, i typed: >diskpart >select disk 0 >select part 1 >inactive >select part 2 >active >exit >exit And 'til now it works! =D Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/145324-asus-g50vt-x1/page/3/#findComment-1236616 Share on other sites

Thanks in advance! Also, I can't find a tutorial link. I'm using iAtkos 5i. Any input would be great too, thanks! Steve a.k.a. Cavalcade a.k.a. Noob I just finished installing dual booted mac os x 10.5.7 (iatkos v7) with original vista that came with the lappy. It seems to be working pretty well. I mean it booted and all, though my inbuilt keyboard and trackpad are not working. I guess, I need to download a patch or something. here's how I installed. Download and burn the iatkos v7 image to DVD Create a partition using the Computer Management > Diskmanagement. If you still have the original windows intact and want to keep it as well, then here's what u need to do, you just need to shrink your drive d and create another partition. Don't assign a letter to it neither format it. I made a 20 GB partition though the installation takes only 7-8 GB. I wanted to keep something extra, incase I need to install anything later. restart ur pc with the iatkos dvd inside. enter the bios setup and change the booting preference to CD\DVD. Once the lappy has booted from the iatkos dvd, press F8 and type"-v cpus=1" (without the quotes) The setup window will appear. continue through the first 2 windows. CLick on "utilities > disk utility" for formating partitions and all. To do that, on the left from the list of hard drives, click on the one u just created (should be last on in the list, you'll figure it out). After selecting the partition, click on 'erase'. it will format the hard drive partition. make sure u choose something which says "journaled". phew, thats a lot of typing... anyhow. One the partitioning is done, exit the {censored} utility and u'll be back on the screen, where u were asked to choose the partition, where u want to install the OS. but this time, you'll see the partition u just created. select that and continue. I used the below link as a reference. check it out. Its brilliant. http://dailyapps.net/2008/03/hack-attack-d...-windows-vista/ Hi men, I told you that i have the same computer =D To install Leopard, you can only use IPC 10.5.6 (search in Torrent), I have tried with iAtkos i5, iDenev, Jas, Leo4All, and more few distros, without succesfull. You have to choose the next configuration: Video: NVdarwin 512MN (Is the only which works, but Leopard recognize it as an defaul video card with 32MB , I tried to search some kext, but i didn't have lucky) Audio: Not working yet, if you can find some kext for alc663, tell me. Ethernet: Realtek R1000 WiFi: There is not driver for Intel Link 5100 Fixes: ACPI Fix, CPUS=1 one core fix, and PS/2 Keyboad (only keyboard) After installation, start Leo in verbose mode (press F8 and the write -v) if it restart, use CPUS=1 and verbose mode (cpus=1 -v) Well if you can find some for video and audio, it will be welcome Hey... My audio seems to be working. I used the default driver. I didnt uncheck the sound driver during the installation. My keyboard and trackpad are not working. I can't get past tht screen where in it asks me to plug in a kyb. what do i do? Could u please give me detailed instructions? fedeisas
Hi guys, I really want to install OSX but I don't know how to "prepare" my HD. I don't want to lose my ExpressGate Partition. But it would be ok to live without windows. So, first question: if I put the DVD, can I erase my windows partition and make a new one for OSX? It would boot ok? And, I know this is gonna sound stupid, but we should make a "Install guide for g50vt" with the info in this page. It's really confussing to use o not to use the BIOS replacement method, or how to get QE/CI working. For the newbies like me, editing a kext sounds like a sci-fi movie. See ya!
