Asgaroth
Hi, I have an HP NW9440 notebook which has the Intel 3945ABG wireless network card in it. I have been doing some research to try and change this card to an Atheros bosed card which may be supported. From what I have found out the only Atheros based card that will work in my notebook is the SparkLAN WPEA-110N because of some BIOS features of the NW9440. This card is based on the Atheros 9280 chipset, and from the limited searching I have done, it appears that there is no driver available for OS-X *yet*. The link to the card is: http://www.oxfordtec.com/uk/p204/SparkLAN-...oduct_info.html I suggest you get hold of one of these guys at the shop and ask them which Atheros based card is compatible with your laptop. If they suggest an Atheros AR5008 based card for your laptop then you are sorted (for example the SparkLAN WPEA124N-E0) - from what I have read in these forums, the Atheros AR5008 range of chips are nativly supported in OS-X 10.5.2 and above. PS: If you are based in the US, then the above shop also has a USA/Canada outlet. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
