JuzzMann
Hey all, I just installed kalyway 10.5.2 and just upgraded to 10.5.5 My problem is that when i boot it gets to the bootloader and shows two partitions(keep in mind, i dont hav another OS installed)....the first one when i hit enter it says its unbootable....the second one is my leopard install I have installed using GUID partition scheme I just want to know if there is a way to make it book without me having to select that second partition, how can i get it to go straight into leopard?? Thanks in advance, Justin Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/144718-weird-extra-partition-please-help/ Share on other sites
pontifex22
When you have a GUID partition, there is always a hidden extra 200MB partition by default (EFI specs) Why it shows up I don't know. Make yourself aquainted with fdisk and boot up with -s. Then fdisk -e/dev/disk0. Might be differnt parameters on your drive but then your into fdisk. JuzzMann
Thanks for your quick reply! But what can i do to make the computer boot straight in Leopard instead of waiting at the bootloader screen selection between the two. Any ideas? pontifex22
You have to flag the appropriate partition with fdisk Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/144718-weird-extra-partition-please-help/#findComment-1027075 Share on other sites

pontifex22
1. Boot up with option -s . 2. As the system stopped (Unix terminal) typr fdisk -e /dev/disk1 (if your OS X disk is the first) 3. Now you sould be in fdisk and can type "Print" to show the MBR . 4. The asterix in some row hints what partition is the boot partition. 5. Type in flag 1 or flag 2 for the appropriate partition 6. Type: Update 7. Type Write 8. Type Exit 9. Type Reboot If there is a confirmation needet on the way type Y Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/144718-weird-extra-partition-please-help/#findComment-1028484 Share on other sites
