mknabster
I have Solidworks 2009 for my engineering classes this year. I got it so i could do work outside of class. Well, i tried to install it on both Bootcamp and VMWare Fusion on different OSes, XP Home SP2, XP Pro SP2, XP Pro SP3, and Vista Home Premium, and it keeps giving me an error that installation was interrupted and couldn't continue. Now i tried installing it on my other PCs, and it installed no problem. I also tried safe mode on Bootcamp, and it said that admin had disabled privileges, even as me signed in as the admin. What's wrong with mine? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/144680-installing-solidworks/ Share on other sites
Embio
I've had experience with Solidworks - whats the error? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/144680-installing-solidworks/#findComment-1026816 Share on other sites
mknabster
As soon as i try to install the actual program, like after i put the serial in, and all those questions they ask, it says, right after it validates the install, that setup was interrupted. It's really wierd considering it installed on 2 of my dedicated PCs no problem. Embio
hmmm maybe it struggles with activation because it tries to identify the BIOS? I'm not sure.... if the copy is perfectly legal then there are no problems (legally) with trying one of the many cracks out there. JoshandMac
I'm also have the same trouble. Im running windows XP pro on my macbook and when I insert the solidworks cd, it will prompt me to start the installation, asking for my license and installing preferences. Then when the install begins, it will function for about 5 minutes, then the installer will stop progressing and I will need to force quit. That can also be a hassle. Any ideas? mknabster
You know what, i was actually able to install it correctly now. What you need to do is download 2 Microsoft files, the .NEt 3.0 framework update, and the C++ redistributable. It worked for me after i did that.
