Hello all,

Once again I put OSX on my ASUS R1F Tablet PC with the motivation to get the device 100% working. Using Leo4allv3 I got my install on just fine and with a replacement Atheros wireless card instead of the intel 3945 I have working wireless, audio, and wacom pen. The last thing that I need on my list to get a perfectly working OSX tablet pc is a screen rotation. I have been searching for many days on the internet as a whole and in the forums here with no luck. There was another user asking these same questions but it looked like no acceptable answer was given.

I am hoping a new topic might bring some fresh faces to my issue.

Here is some more information about my display. About this mac gives the following information:

vendor 0x8060 (intel)

device ID 0x27a2

revision ID 0x0003

If anyone could help me figure out a way to enable rotation or a script or something similar to rotate the display 90 degrees from 1280x800 to 800x1280 I would be most thankful!

From what I've read, the Mac GMA 950 laptop drivers do not allow for screen rotation. This is a limitation on Apple's Macbook drivers for gma 950. While Axiotron reportedly has worked around this, they have modded or developed their own drivers that are unavailable. You might find my workaround for pen calibration settings helpful though.

Yes, I just figured out a fix to avoid losng pen calibration on every reboot, and I'm using it now. After you've installed the cons495-1_int.dmg file, you need to also copy a few files from the DMG and add them to your applications folder...so here goes.

1) Inside the cons495-1_int.dmg you will see "Install Pen Tablet.mpkg" - Right click on that and "show package contents"

2) You should now see a file called InstallSemiProTablet.pkg. Right click on that and "show package contents"

3) You should now open the "Contents" folder, open the "Resources" folder and copy the "InstallSemiproTablet.pax.gz" to your desktop.

4) Expand the "InstallSemiproTablet.pax.gz" by double clicking on it, and it will extract files to a folder called "InstallSemiproTablet" on your desktop.

5) Go inside the "Library" folder in the "InstallSemiproTablet" directory on your desktop and double-click to open "Startup items"

6) Drag the "Tablet" directory inside "Startup items" to your Applications folder.

7) Then Go to System Preferences, Accounts, and add the "TabletDriver" (application) you just copied to your Applications folder to your startup items. Your tablet should now work on every reboot without losing preferences.

Apparently, this TabletDriver file is not getting loaded when Leopard boots up, so this method is a workaround.
