brownie545
If anyone else is having this problem I have figured it out. The JMicron kext can only support 32-bit which means only 2.5 gigs of ram. Using the maxmem command at darwin bootloader you can lower the amount of ram osx uses. (maxmem=****) So either lower the ram or get a SATA hard drive Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/144408-you-must-restart-your-computer-error-while-using-certain-features/#findComment-1026972 Share on other sites
pontifex22
If the kernel panic is due to the more than 2.5 Gb, then this might solve it better: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=127611 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/144408-you-must-restart-your-computer-error-while-using-certain-features/#findComment-1027005 Share on other sites

brownie545
Used the Jmicron kext you recommended and now it works perfectly. Stressed my ram to the max and no problems at all.
