dephazer
I have an HP 550 notebook running OSX 10.5.5 iDeneb. Everything is working fine, screen sound powermanagent etc. Only thing is that the internal wifi doesnt work. I have internet using an USB dongle but i'd like to be able to use the internal wifi. Anyone know of a driver for it? its a: Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/144391-hp-550-notebook-hackintosh/ Share on other sites
gprince
Hi Download OSX86tools and use the function View PCI device vendor id.. My hp 550 was with an intel card(4965 wich doesn't work) but some are with a broadcom card wich doesn't work out of the box with osx. So if you have a broadcom card you can make it work, otherwise you have to buy one. gprince
Hi Download the script bcm43xxenabler. And find your device id with osx86tools (lspci), mine is 4315 for the card to add it in the script : <string>pci14e4,4313</string> <string>pci14e4,4315</string> <string>pci14e4,4318</string> Your card should have also 4315 for id. Giuseppe B.
Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g on hp 550 works with iPC 10.5.6. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/144391-hp-550-notebook-hackintosh/#findComment-1159946 Share on other sites
mardurhack
Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g on hp 550 works with iPC 10.5.6. I can confirm I installed iPC 10.5.6 with only Chipset and WLAN Broadcom drivers and PS/2 Fix on my HP550 and it works! Everything works just fine but for Intel X3100 (VGA) and Soundmax Audio Card I had to install separate kexts downloaded around the web. Only two of them worked so, finally, I had a perfect clone of Mac OSX on my x86 laptop (except for scrolling! I tried almost everything...Nothing to do!). Is there anyone who solved this big trouble? I use always scrolling features (both Vertical and Horizontal) and I can't stand to use a chinese external usb mouse instead of my synaptic touchpad! javier carro
hi everyone... sorry about de delay in the answer, but i've been busy studying... i don't know if now i can help... but you should serch in the forum the post with a lot of info about hp 550 with this keywords "snowleo hp 550". there you'll find a lot of things about this machine. i'll recomend for the sound to use voodoohda 0.2.2 because i think is better than the one provided in the post... i have a couple of things to recomend though: -if you want your usb to work... you should delete from s/l/e/AppleHPET.kext (i don't know why but it works) -if you upgrade the system to 10.5.8 (any way you want) you should start with -f -v (-v to know if something is wrong, but -f is a must, you'll save yourself of a lot of headaches wondering what's wrong) well if something new comes up to my mind i'll post saludos para todos desde Uruguay! javier Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/144391-hp-550-notebook-hackintosh/#findComment-1291507 Share on other sites
