jbardi
Just out of curiosity, what is your main reason for installing Tiger over Leopard? I installed Kalyway 10.5.2, then upgraded all the way to 10.5.4, and after monitoring the Extensions folder to delete a certain kext during the combo update to 10.5.5, I then updated to 10.5.6 using the combo update direct from Apple without any modifications. I am now at 10.5.6 using a vanilla apple kernel and am able to do updates direct from the Software Update through Apple. I just don't see why anyone is still running Tiger unless you have a really old and crappy computer. The_Strock_Killer
Jbardi, I tried installing Leopard on my Compaq presario C502US with iAtkos 5i but for my luck, it got stuck in the apple boot logo, i tried reinstalling it like 5 times, and it kept on geeting stuck, anyway i am planing to download kalyway lepard intel install DVD 10.5.1, i am alredy 12% through the download but i am downloading it with my other laptop which has xp in it and that pc writes DVDs drive and the one i am using right now doesn't, hope it works, here are some reasons why i chose to install tiger; First, it runs faster, Second, it was my first time with mac, i thought it looked cool, Third, i don't have an Intel core duo or dual core or anything that has to do with cores (i think) Here are some of my system info; Proccesor Intel Celeron M CPU 440 @ 1.86GHz Memory 2GB RAM Audio Intel HD Audio Graphics Intel GMA 950, VRAM 64mb shared system memory Computer Compaq Presario C502US (Running Mac OS X 10.4.8, Probably will install Leopard, Compaq Presario V5000 (Running Xp, Same System Info, Includes DVD writer) PS: do you know how to make or edit the signature? Mastachief
I have used aitkos v1.5 and i can say that it allows you to seamlessly update to 10.5.6 i have applied all updates and only received minor issues such as usb not mounting, kernel panic when mounting dmg, otherwise everything else works, even wireless, this is a full mac laptop, only that you have to use aitkos install and a few modifications to get it to work completely Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/144255-i-want-to-have-apple-updates-help/#findComment-1088415 Share on other sites
