shariqkhan1
Hi! i had insatlled a dual boot OSX 10.5.5 and windows vista using boot camp and refit. Everything was working fine untill today when i selected windows vista all i would get is a blinking cursor. So i went ahead and booted into OSX. From there i went into bootcamp assistant and selected to start the windows installer so that i can repair my windows vista. I then tried to repair and it did repair fine but after that when i try to boot windows vista, it complains that no suitable boot device is found. I can see the windows vista partition and al the files but i cant boot into windows. I suspect that boot camp has over written my MBR. Please help me with this. I dont want to reinstall windows vista cause too many important programs and emails are stored there. Thanks in advance. french squared
use the original vista install cd to repair the boot loader. Just put the cd in, bott the machine and in the bottom corner of the screen you will see an option to repair vista. select repair and let windows repair its boot loader. It wont hurt the files. Good Luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/144148-windows-vista-stopped-booting/#findComment-1024152 Share on other sites
