Postmastagen
Anyone know if 5.1 audio would work on this? That's the only thing holding me back from buying one. I've been considering buying a Mac Mini for Xcode and iPhone development, but if I can get this to work, then I have a super affordable Mac Mini + something that can also run Ubuntu, and Win XP. One other question is the GMA950 powerful enough to drive a 1920x1080 screen? One other question is the GMA950 powerful enough to drive a 1920x1080 screen? I have not gotten my wind yet. Still in the mail. i will report back with info on the sound. I dont think that it will run 1080 if i remember right it's not powerful enough. EDIT: correction mac mini has GMA 950 and will do 1920x1080 see spec sheet http://www.apple.com/macmini/specs.html EDIT2: I've bean looking at benchmarks and dont think this machine will run a 1080movie. but it should run the os at 1080. I will report actual benchmarks and do a hd test once i get the machine up and running. Still waiting on memory and wireless card to arrive. Myr7
A friend of mine bought this some weeks ago and i installed OS X Leopard Server succesfully on it with the help of the grub-dfe.iso. Sound is yet not fully working, but with the release of voodoohda i think is then fully supported. in bios you must set usb to fast not hispeed! realfolkblues
I'm currently installing the jas osx 10.5.4 dvd. as Jason48 said usb had to be set to hispeed for the dvd to boot. I will post back with more info later. UPDATE: I've got osx installed and running only problem i've found is no max speed usb. it has to be set to the slower speed for the computer to boot. other then that everything seems to work. vary snappy computer and great for a little media server. as long and you dont wanna attach harddrives and get fast access through usb. UPDATE2: I settled on the osx86windpc.iso and it works great all drivers included. i installed 10.5.6 combo update after i installed this and i did not even have to re-patch anything it just rebooted and worked! Sorry for dragging this thread up, but i really would like to know if UPDATE 2 fixed the USB issue? I want to use the MSI Barebone as a local file/webserver. If the USB is slow i have to reconsider. I'm going to get a Msi barebone soon. I see that you installed OSX and was able to apply updates. I'm wondering if the iso you used is the same one as "MSIWindosx86.iso"? According to some guides and articles "MSIWindosx86.iso" wasn't able to install OS updates, or else it might crash after updating. Thanks!
