maranas
happy holidays everyone! i tried out installing OS X leopard on my toshiba u305 s2812, with kalyway 10.5.2, and it pretty much does everything the wiki said it would. one issue though: it thinks it's a mac pro. is that why the battery meter won't show? does it have to "think" it's a macbook before the meter shows? also, i tried the CamTwist fix to the chicony USB 2.0 camera, and it works but is too slow. i have seen some posts that claim the camera works after they install the power meter fix, and i am still waiting for it to work (they say it should work after some time). wifi doesn't work, ethernet is detected but not tested, everything else worked fine out of the box. the only thing i had to fiddle with was the dual boot setup with Vista, but doing an fdisk -u /dev/rdisk0 did the trick, and now darwin boot loader works perfectly (had to repair my vista partition though, something about winload.exe, but nothing this forum can't help me with ), and also install the alc268 drivers. so far, i am loving it. i installed photoshop and am tinkering with the setup (gave it 20Gigs, as i am not yet too keen on migrating) but so far, it's been a whole new experience. i now watch all my movies and video on OS X. thanks for all of those tutorial guides, and i really hope the intel 4965 driver works someday. again, merry christmas! YureZzZ
My eee pc (Celeron M ULV dothan 900MHz) thinks that it is MacPro To get battery meter you need to install PowerManagement kext. maranas
i know. it is awesome hehe! i tried xbench and it gave me a 62.xx something score, and i heard that is more than the macbook air. i tried the PowerManagement10.5.3.zip (somewhere in this forum), and it fixed the power meter. the only drawback is that it doesn't seem to work when the ac is plugged in.. i haven't tested extensively, but i noticed the % value going down even if the power is plugged in. works otherwise, though, and i rarely work on ac so all's good. the only remaining problems are the wifi and the volume control (which seems to continuously go up or down, depending on how i last turned the wheel). tried every fix on this forum and nothing seems to work. no worries though, as i always use my headphones and that has volume control. and i just noticed, USB works out of the box, but only if you boot it with a flash drive or any other usb device plugged in. otherwise, the devices won't plug and play. i only noticed this morning. anyways, thanks for the advice! i am also planning to get an eee 901 for a dedicated mac, coz i heard the wifi works. maranas
nice! i'll try the fix later. i just wish the poster you linked to asked the question a few hours earlier so i wouldn't have started a new thread. thanks for the heads up though!
