banini_jeque
I have a Quicksilver case that I bought to build a hack in. I haven't made up my mind on what parts to use, but I'm thinking I'm going to buy another case for spare parts so that I can do what's in the attached photoshop mockup. I'll cut the front panel in half, and take the top panel from the second case, cut it about in half (the top is longer than the front is tall), and then cut slits for dual slim slot load dvd burners. I could just cut the slits in the regular drive doors, but I kind of like the cleaner look, even if there would be a small gap in the panels. What do you guys think? Tomfr
yes good idea, but the holes must be clean (great cut), if you have a large tool set, why not? Just think about the motherboard, only microAtx if you want 2 dvd drives. banini_jeque
I think I can still use a full size ATX if I use the slim laptop drives. That was the whole reason I wanted to change the front panel in the first place. If I end up using a regular size drive and cutting a chunk out of it, I'll just get one with a tray and leave the front of the case alone. I don't even think they make full size slot load drives anymore do they? I didn't see any on Newegg.
