this is probably my 20th time trying to get this thing to work but i can't just figure it out.

this is a brand new computer. i put it together myself. nothing on it so formatting and starting from scratch is not a big deal.

so here are my specs (courtesy of wiki):

Board: Intel DP43TF

Processor: Intel Q9550 Quad Core 2.83GHZ

HD: SATA Seagate 500GB

Ram: 2X2GB 667 MHZ

Drive: IDE DVD/CD Burner

Video: MSI N9600GT-T2D512 (this might be a problem)

Developer DVD: iDeneb 1.3

ok so i burned the iso onto a dvd it works fine it reads and all that.

the first few initial times i tried doing a dual boot system (i know i am not looking before i leap). so i had my HD installed with:

XP Pro [30GB]| Unformatted [30GB]| Fat32 [130GB]| Fat32 [130GB]| Fat32 [130GB]

then when attempting to install OSx my disks weren't being detected, soooo

XP Pro [30GB]| Fat32 Primary [30GB]| Fat32 [130GB]| Fat32 [130GB]| Fat32 [130GB]

still no go.

with the help of the forums i found out i am supposed to set my drive into APCHI as opposed to IDE

drives now found... however when i try to erase the Fat32 Primary [30GB] to the mac format it wouldn't let me it just gets converted to "Windows MS-Dos" and i can't change it after that. i can however delete the first partition, XP Pro [30GB], and install OSx there. and so i did just to see if it would work... because i figured i would be able to install XP Pro on the second partition, Fat32 Primary [30GB], without any issues right?

well when i get to the customization screen, it wasn't as clear cut as i was hoping for...

i know i need to do some patching which i was hoping i could do when the OS was up and running. such as for Audio (ALC888VC), Lan (Intel 82567LV), and Video. but in the customization screen i don't know what i am supposed to select. i read about 10 different install guides and none of them detail it. it all seems to be a sort of guess and choose. i know the fact that i have an intel processor which has SSE4, SSE3, and SSE2 matters but i can't really see where that fits in i see the kernels indicate SSE but nothing else...

i tried to pick the mostly likely options giving my specs (ICHx fix, Kernel 9.4.0, NVinject 0.2.1 512 MB) but after the install i get the message that i need to restart my computer in multiple languages.

Please help me out!

Most important thing to mention is:

Install Leo on a primary partition which is flagged active (bootable).

XP Pro in the first (primary ) partition is a good decision.

Get GParted Live CD to change the ID (no the label) of the new Leo partition to AF.

After ereasing (which means formatting) Leos prepared partition

with "Mac OS X journaled" you can install it.

After reboot you'll get a Darwin bootloader countdown

that can be interrupted to boot XP Pro.

If you don't mark any Kernel it installs Darwin 9.5.0 (original Apple)

Hope that helps

I have the same motherboard (Intel DP43TF). You are going in the right direction. The northbridge controller is not supported natively. You need to choose the ICH10 patch (is included in Leopard 10.5.6 XxX edition) or use the attached kext. Before you use one of these, please press F8 at the darwin prompt (directly after your bios loads up) and boot with the boot flag -v. When the system halts, take a picture of the screen an attach it to the replay here. Then we can see what is causing your 'malfunctioing'.

PS. For innitial boot you do not need anything else other than the ICH10 fix. After booting into leopard, you can modify the other kext.
