X64 Server
Machine: KV2Extreme Lite AMD Athlon64 x2 2.5ghz 2gb Ram 250GB sata 1.5 Installing OSX 10.5.5 (Ideneb 1.3) and this is the screen I get. This is right after the kernel starts loading. Tried Ideneb 5.5.4 and I get the same thing. I can run osx tiger under vmware. I never tried leopard. I wanted to try it native mode since linux sucks on 5.1 surround and there are some mac apps I want to try. Why is this happening I can't find any information about what to even call this type of error. UnaClocker
Ditch the AMD processor. It just doesn't play well with OS X. Even if you find a distro that has a kernel hacked up well enough to boot the installer, half the apps won't run. It's a nightmare. I spent months fighting a nearly identical setup in my wife's Dell. Last week I yanked out the MB and tossed in a dual Atom board, install went like butter and EVERYTHING worked on the first boot (except sleep, but eh, it's a hackintosh after all).. X64 Server
It runs under vmware so I don't think the processor is the problem. It reports as an AMD to vmware too. I'm not in the mood to spend 2 to 300 on this just to try mac osx. Plus I'd need new ram and pciE graphics. I'm not building a dedicated mac here. I just have an extra hard drive and want to see it native to run FCP and some other apps. Nobody has seen this before? I'll try kalyway leopard and then tiger next see if it changes the outcome at all. Athlon X2 has sse3 and says it can run unpatched according to the osx86wiki. As for the VIA chipset I don't know. BTW the Atom is a really crappy chip, its for netbooks and such. If anything I'd get a core 2 duo. I would still lose 64bit support but at least I'd have a real processor.
