archer75
I just installed iatkos 10.5.5 and it went very well. Afterwards I even downloaded 10.5.6 update through apple update and it went without a hitch. Anytime I download a file with safari or firefox after the download completes it mounts the image and I get a kernel panic. Everytime. However if I download a dmg on another computer and transfer it over it installs without issue. What's the issue? Beerkex'd
Replace seatbelt.kext with the one from 10.5.5. You can extract it from a 10.5.5 update or install disc using Pacifist. If it still crashes, then go back to using kernel+system.kext from 10.5.5 as well. hackeron
I'm having the same problem here, could someone upload the kexts required to solve this? archer75
I solved it by doing a reinstall and not select a kernel so it used the default vanilla kernel. hackeron
I solved it by doing a reinstall and not select a kernel so it used the default vanilla kernel. Vanilla kernel has timing issues with 45nm processors like the Q9300 I have, so I'm forced to use a non vanilla kernel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/142595-kernel-panic-everytime-borwser-mounts-dmg/#findComment-1041044 Share on other sites
archer75
Have you tried other kernels? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/142595-kernel-panic-everytime-borwser-mounts-dmg/#findComment-1041052 Share on other sites
