I couldn't find the ApplePS2Controller fix in the menu and I didn't need the USB fix (I don't use firewire, so maybe I do). NvInject worked for me for my Nvidia card.

What bios settings did you use?

Reason for my question is that I've used all the same settings and I always reboot from HD into a blue screen with a moveable mouse pointer... that is it!

I've tried a lot of different variations and best I can get is the blue screen w\ mouse.

I'm very sad... and very FRUSTRATED...

What bios settings in particular do you need? My rig is overclocked pretty good. Are you Dual Booting or using a single OS? What hardware do you have (sata HD, sata CD)? I'll be checking this throughout the day.

Hi DeepCover, thanks 4 the reply! :D

I've updated my sig to reflect what I'm working with (sorry), but to recap:

I've got a Asus Maximus Formula with 1302 BIOS reset to default parameters (back Panel button) except the following:

SATA > AHCI

ACPI 2.0 > Enabled

Plug & Play > Enabled

Execute Disable Bit > Enabled

There is only one of the ATI HD3870 installed when loading iDeneb. A dedicated 500GB SATA drive for just OS X, and a SATA DVDr/CDR drive is installed.

I have reset the bios so there isn't any overclock happening to confuse the issue. This is for later after successful install as I was stable @ 3 GHz :D

When installing OS X I have a few ?

-MBR or GIUD? < I'm thinking GIUD as it is a dedicated OS X Drive but have tried both ways.

-Mac OS Extended (Journaled)? < I'm sure but just to dot all the i's.

iDeneb Customize menu, this is what I've checked:

-ADI1988

-ICHx Fixed

-JMicronATA

-Kernel 9.2.0 Sleep

-AppleYukon2 & Broadcom (I have Linksys WMP54GS)

-ATIHDBase & Ati Radeon HD3870

-NO Applications

I have tried many variations and usually end up with a blue screen and moveable mouse pointer. I can boot into single user mode and get command line root.

I've tried F8 then -F -v "GraphicsMode"="640x480x32" but just get same blue screen @ same resolution.

Arrrrggg. :P

I have also downloaded the iDeneb disk from two different sources and get the exact same end result.

I have read that it may be the ATI video driver and have downloaded a different driver but have no idea how to install it in command line mode :) <<< If anybody knows how, please let me in on the path to full rez. freedom!

So this is where I stand ATM.

Thanks in advance for any help.

PS. I've registered at the iDeneb website but for some odd reason I can't see any of the posts after login; they just disappear! No reply from email to admin yet...

OK, so I was able to boot into safe mode and see a desktop!

Checking system profiler shows that there is no kext loaded for the HD3870. So I think my hunch is right and it is a video issue.

All I have to do now is figure out how to install a video kext.

The adventure continues...

Looks like I got the video problem fixed!

Downloaded driver from here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=107526

Boot into safe mode ( -x at Darwin) and then ran the above package. Voila, I'm now at 1920x1200x32! :censored2: ;);)

It's funny how you can beat your head on the wall for dayz until it's a bloody pulp and then everything seems to fall into place in a matter of minutes!

Now all that's left is some tweaking... Would really like to get both my cards into crossfire if it is doable?

Hey DeepCover; do you know anything about flashing the formula boards with the rampage BIOS?

Just to keep anyone up to date who is following this thread:

After installing iDeneb, rebooting with "-x", and installing the above linked HD3870 pkg to fix blue screen, everything ran just fine.

After multiple installs and reboots, I figured all was golden until it was time to go to sleep and shut down the computer; Kernel Panic! :)

It turns out that every time I shutdown it results in KP! I can reboot all day without issue though...

@DeepCover. Is this KP @ shutdown happening to you?

Reinstalled iDeneb and selected the "Shutdown Fix" did not install any video drivers. Booted into safe mode and successfully shut down the comp. half a dozen times with no kernel panic.

Installed the above linked video driver, repaired permissions and shutdown: Kernel Panic!

So over to that thread I go. :)

Thanks...
