msingh
Hello The wireless (Airport) device cannot seem to connect to WPA protected networks even when I supply the correct password. With unencrypted networks, I can connect but the wireless indicator does not change in any way (on a real Mac, it becomes a little dark), and the network successfully connected to vanishes from the contextual list of ESSIDs. Any ideas ? Thanks. PS : This is an Atheros card that worked perfectly with WPA protected networks using madwifi drivers (ath_pci) prior to OSX install. Any ideas ? Thanks. PS : This is an Atheros card that worked perfectly with WPA protected networks using madwifi drivers (ath_pci) prior to OSX install. Update : If I click on network preferences, use diagnostics (without restarting my router as it asks), I can get a connection. However, I have to do this everytime I try to connect. If I simply select the network from the pull down list, it cannot connect. The password is saved in the configuration, so it is seeing the same password in both methods. Its almost as if the network card is in some unclean state, and needs to be reset by the assistant to behave. The above procedure is not necessary on unencrypted networks, which I can join seamlessly. iNoob
I'm afraid this is a known problem. It is, indeed. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/142475-atheros-wireless-card-cannot-connect-to-wpa-networks/#findComment-1018711 Share on other sites
kyanox
Bump did anyone figure out the fix to this yet? IE: Newer driver. I hate to try a different driver as I rendered my atheros unusable last time doing so. I'm afraid this is a known problem. It is, indeed.
