BIG
Hello to all of you fellow hackintosh users. Since my fresh update to 10.5.6 i have been getting a strange problem with my sound card:ac97. I have managed to repair my graphics card but not my sound card. My MoBo is an asrock 775i65g which has never proved me wrong since the day I bought it. Through all of the updates from my 10.5.2 installation sound has always been working though without being able to control the volume trough the system's controls but it was fully functional till this update. Can anyone please enlighten my with any kind of solution? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/142030-ac97-driver-needed/ Share on other sites

dparada78
I just updated to 10.5.6 too. Got everything working. This is the only appleac97audio.kext that ever gave me stereo sound from 10.4.8 to 10.5.6 on my hackintosh. I think some guy pat made it. just try it and see. hope it works. if it doesnt u might have to edit device ids in your ac97 kext. find out your device id and check in the plugins folder of this appleac97audio.kext (right click, show package contents). Theres another kext appleac97audiointelICH in the plugins folder. right click, show package contents again, and open the info.plist in text edit. I think your mobo has ich5. look in the plist text for a heading that says ICH5 AC97 Audio and check your device ids there. but just try it first before u go through all that. it might just work. . BIG
Thanx dparada78 but didn't make any difference. Still no sound. Unfortunately i don't know my device id and i don't have windows installed to check from it. Any other solution please don't tell me that I am doomed to no sound Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/142030-ac97-driver-needed/#findComment-1013071 Share on other sites
