simonapro
1) Are there any guides for OSx86 VMware GUEST Installation? (as opposed to the Native method). 2) My Problem. I have MaC.OsX.10.4.5.Universal.Install.DVD(INTEL-AMD-SSE3-SSE2).iso I mount using the VMware Native method but used a virtual HDD and can format the virtual drive and install OSx86 right up until the last screen which tells me that I have finished the installation and need to reboot. However when I do reboot I get this error... http://img446.imageshack.us/img446/8692/gay7dm.jpg If the ISO is mounted or not, this same error message appears. I noticed that a Japanese poster (7th post down) http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=11314 had this same problem but solved it? I am not sure how though. Bottom Line is that I have exhausted all channels and so ultimately I need.... HEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!! simonapro
OK, it looks like it was just a bad install. I have been able to boot into OSx86 on a virtual drive in VMware. Now I just have to figure out how to get my mouse and keyboard working. domino
add this to you .vmx file: paevm=true the file can be opened with notepad and the file is contained in the place where you saved the vmware session. If that doesn't work, mount the ISO using daemon tools Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14195-osx86-vmware-guest-installation-problem/#findComment-90652 Share on other sites
simonapro
It looks like this was just a bad install. I reinstalled it again and it worked this time without the need to change anything. It would be interesting to see if anyone has managed to hack up some VMware Tools for OSx86.
