Ikahrus
Has anyone got their x1300 (yes the one with the awful device id) Graphics Crard to work with 10.5.5 or 10.5.6? I had been using 10.5.4 since iATKOS 4i became available and had a near perfect running osx install. But a few days ago I decided to upgrade from 5.4 to 5.6. I managed to install the update without any hiccups but once it came to reinstalling my kexts all worked but ATI_For_QE_CI. It left me with the Blue Screen Hang just before the login. I also tried 5.5 but I get the same problem (sometimes it's worse as I get Full Screen Artifacts). Everything else seems to work with no problems appart from it comes to installing ATI_For_QE_CI (which I always do last) so I'm not able to get QE... Getting a new Graphics Card isn't an option at the moment (but will happen) but has anyone else come across similar problems and/or found a solution/s to correct this? I'm egar to get this working but it is becoming very frustrating that this card is once again being an utter pain.
Lanceomni
No other video related kexts installed? Permissions set correctly?
Ikahrus
I've tried with both Natit's x1300 kext and his Universal kext and with ATI_For_QE_CI on it's own. Permissions are set and files are chmoded, etc. But the same problem is always there as soon as ATI_For_QE_CI is installed. I also noticed that the artifacts only appear when I -f during boot. newbe mac
Same thing here. I carboned my working HDD and install the new EFI on my second/new/ HDD. put it into boot, hangs on the blue screen. I have a ATI 3650 HDD card. can I manually go in and change the ktext? I can only boot into the safe mode at this point
Ikahrus
Try booting into Safe Mode (-x at Darwin screen). You should be able to get access to your install that way allowing you to make any changes you need.
Ztardust
No problems here with getting QE + CI on ATI x1300 mobility, in 10.5.5 and 10.5.6. Just had to add my device ID into AtiRadeonx1000.kext I originally installed from iAtkos 4a... - Ztardust
Ikahrus
Yeah, I understand people have been able to get their x1300 to work, but unfortunately I'm one of the unfortune people with the Device ID 0x7183, which has been known to cause problems in the past. ATI_For_QE_CI helped with versions prior to 10.5.5 to enable QE but it seems to be causing me problems with 10.5.5 and up.
Ikahrus
Thanks to this post I decided to install Leopard Graphics Update 1.0. This solved my problem straight away. I had to install it via Pacifist because the installer wouldnt allow to to install to the disk but everything was fine after that.
