Nathan Law
Im making a new computer build for a friend i want to verify that an OSX installation will be possible. Also I have all the original Leopard discs, what installer would you recommend? Is there any reason a lot of the builds i see posted don't use ATI? I understand mac's use Nvidia so compatibility is probably best with Nvidia, but does ATI work alright with any of these OSX installs? Well here is what i was going to put in my PC: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80570E8400 - Retail GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail G.SKILL PI Black 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL4D-4GBPI-B - Retail EVGA 01G-P3-N880-AR GeForce 9800 GTX+ 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM SAMSUNG 22X DVD Burner Black SATA Model SH-S223F - OEM This build with the case, PSU, and cooling i am intending on buying is just a bit over 1000 dollars i believe. So what do you guys think? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/141690-compatibility/ Share on other sites
Synaesthesia
Your build is compatible! Currently ATI 3870 works brilliantly, but 4850 & 4870 do not. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/141690-compatibility/#findComment-1005136 Share on other sites
