Ritchie
Well I install myzar DVD on a P4 3.2 with sse3, bla bla bla you know the story.. I try to unpatch the SSE3 emulation with the PPF-o-matic... try base and no nx... got a blue screen, try no nx=blue screen, try base=blue screen.. try base,no nx, amd enabler=got osx and sse3 on my system profiler.. the thing is that I thing that it's slower with my new sse3 kernel xbench CPU is higher with my sse2 kernel.... I read somewere in this forum that although sse3 not shown in system profile it's there.. Now I'm confused I managed to enable sse3 but no difference:( anyone manage to unpatch the kernel..? declan
Yes it is there, leave the standard kernel alone, it may not show but its not emulated, similar to About Mac showing the wrong CPU speed, its just a bug. Although you can redo the kernel to display SSE3, with base and AMD enabler (strange that) i found it slower.
