No Sound After 10.5.6 update

I am having a problem with my audio. It doesn't seem to work. Everything else works fine.

I have tried the usual fix with the HDA Patcher1.20. I am not sure what else to do.

I had the same problem and what I did was extract my original kext for my sound ( P5K-VM 5.1 digital) from my XxX 10.5.5 disc using Pacifist. I then deleted the kext from System/Library/Extensions and installed the kext that I got from my disc. I used kext helper to install it, reboot and sound was back. I hope this helps you.
