nabeelmoeen
Hi, I've been searching the forums for a while but none of the solutions to similar problems seem to be working. I installed iATKOS 5i Leopard version on an external USB drive with a logical partition formatted as HFS+. - After setting the partition as active I try to boot the external HDD but it doesnt work (getting a boot0 MBR error). - I have tried chain loading (using the Chain0 file and editing the Boot.ini) via my Windows XP install but that results in a 'Chain Loading error' - tried using the rd=disk2s2 option via the installation DVD, but it keeps on booting the setup from the DVD (I have used this method earlier with Kalyway 10.5.2 install on the same partition and it worked fine, except it did not support the Intel 950 chipset very well). i would appreciate if anyone can guide me towards a solution. What is more frustrating is that method 3, which worked earlier, is also not working. nabeelmoeen
Thanks for the response. Got it working using Option 3 above (rd=Disk2s2 using the Install DVD... that is good enough for me for now).. had to do an upgrade though .. I think (not sure though) that i missed installing the Kernel last time, didnt check the installation customization assuming the kernel should be there by default. so finally I have MAC OSX working .. with adapter support for GMA 950.. WooHooo though my Network and sound are still missing, so its not a very usable system :-( will wait till a later release I guess :'( Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/141180-unable-to-boot-on-external-usb-drive-with-logical-partition-with-iatkos-5i-installed/#findComment-1000685 Share on other sites
